I woke up this morning feeling rejuvenated from yesterday's long day of exercise so I decided to take it easy with a light track workout. As I walked to the Jewel Tree at the pier I realized my legs were not sore so I ended up doing a full track workout. When I returned home I decided to attempt another circuit of hills at the Island. On the walk to the Island my shoulders were tense so I knew it was going to be a slog. What kept me motivated was the thought of drinking chocolate milk on the bench outside the market, which I would only do if I could complete the hill circuit. At the island I was attacked by a red winged blackbird, which did not surprise me because it also attacked me yesterday. After completing the circuit I relaxed at the beach for an hour. The walk to the market was, as usual, the most difficult part of the day due to fatigue, but when I sat on the market bench drinking the milk a heavy relaxation permeated my mind and body. I thought of my childhood summers when I would play ball games from sun up to sun down, a skinny kid with boundless energy, and now that I am an old man I am returning to that childish mode of existence, filled with energy and an expansive sensation of freedom, the body so light it at times creates an illusion of floating above the ground.
