Yesterday was a test walk for the pilgrimage and today was the first full day. My right knee is still recovering from the house painting so I cannot walk the amount of miles I normally would. Awoke at 4:30am and left the apt an hour later. An auspicious sign occurred in the first mile of the walk when a baggie of 2 grams of cannabis materialized on a bench. I placed it in my pocket and decided to smoke it during the afternoon walk. I then walked to the track and at the beach flowers materialized on the sand so I picked those up and placed them in the rice baggie and walked to the Jewel Tree to make an offering.
Decided to bring the camera along for the afternoon walk so after my lunch/nap I walked to the Harold Washington Library to return books. I made one picture and then the camera battery died which was unfortunate because the sunset created many spectacular scenes.
I am not sure what I am supposed to be doing on the pilgrimage so I have to make it up as I go along. This is the time to learn and accustom myself to walking with a purpose different from past days.
