I contemplated taking a day off of running, but I was intrigued by the image of myself running in the empty farm field across the street from the Gardens, so I ran 2 laps around the field for a short run. It felt nice to run on grass and dirt roads, so I will probably run there again at some point before leaving Chiang Mai.
I stopped at the library today to check out the book collection, since the last time I was there all I did was inquire if they had printers available to the public (no). Most of the books are in Thai, but there is a small section of English language books, I found Davinci's Notebooks, sat down at a table and read a few pages of his ideas on the scientific method. I decided that instead of studying chess in the condo in the evenings, I would be more productive if I were to bring my set and pieces to the library in the afternoons and study the Zurich games there. I find I work with more discipline and energy if I am not working inside my home, because I consider home to be a place for rest and relaxation. I would not be a good candidate for the "work from home" type.
